A planetary gear motor consists of a series of gears rotating in perfect synchrony, allowing them to deliver torque in a higher output capacity than a spur gear motor. Unlike the planetary motor, spur gear motors are simpler to build and cost less, but they are better for applications requiring lower torque output. That is because each gear carries the entire load.
