The Basics of a Planetary Motor

A Planetary Motor is a type of gearmotor that uses multiple planetary gears to deliver torque. This system minimizes the chances of failure of individual gears and increases output capacity. Compared to the planetary motor, the spur gear motor is less complex and less expensive. However, a spur gear motor is generally more suitable for applications requiring low torque.
